Boucher Model Launch Engine

Boucher Model Launch Engine   This engine is 8” long and has a ¾” bore.  The valves are eccentric driven slide “D” valves.  Horace E. Boucher out of New York City made many model boats until he went out of business in 1936.  This is one of his engines.  A collector in the Dayton, Ohio area has most of his patterns for the several small engine designs he made.

This is not a racing engine.  It is a working steam engine for scale model launches.  The ports are way too small for high power output.  Most Boucher engines are two cylinder, and as you can see, this is two of those engines put together.  It is a good collector’s item and I am very proud of it.
