The Western Steam car tour is starting to take shape.
The host Hotel is the Holiday Inn express at 645 Griswold Rd, Elyria, OH 44035.
The tour will be based at the Lorain County Airport, 44050 Russia Rd, Elyria, Oh 44035. This is about 6 miles from the host hotel. Self contained RVs can stay there as well.
The original plan was to base the tour at the Wellington fairgrounds. We tried very hard to make that work but Lodging within a reasonable drive from there became too much of an obstacle.
The airport has all the room needed and all the tools needed to tackle most steam related issues.
Roads will mostly be flat and lightly travelled. Distances will range between 40 and 100 miles with some interesting stops along the way
We have not yet figured out the exact costs but they will be reasonable
Please reserve your room early and feel free to forward this to whomever you think might want it.
From the Holiday Inn:
I have your group block set up and individuals can start calling the hotel at 1-440-324-0099 or 1-800-HOLIDAY to make their reservations. They may also book directly from our website using the following link with the group block code. https://www.hiexpress.com/elyriaoh Group block dates: September 15, 2025 – September 21, 2025
It is our policy to do an incidentals / security hold of $100 per room for all guests. If cancellation is necessary guests must do so by 4pm the day prior to arrival. Look for group rate under rate preference and use the Group block code: WSC to get the rates that we have quoted you by the end of the day on 8/18/25. After this date regular rates would apply. If they call the Holiday Inn Express reservation number, they will need to ask for Western Steam Car Meet group block to get the rate. Please share this email with your guests so they are aware of all of the information needed to book |
