Doble Detroit Exhaust Turbine

 

Doble Detroit exhaust turbine.  Aluminum casting 12” diameter.  This is about all that is left of the Doble Detroit car that Abner drove from Detroit to California.  It was in Ozro Smith’s collection at one time.   Doble Detroit exhaust turbine

Doble Detroit exhaust turbine   Doble Detroit turbine wheel and the one steam nozzle, a very small slit shown at the top.  This turbine would have had good torque but a lot of windage loses.
