Ford Model "A" Modification

This Model "A" gasoline engine was modified with a new head and new cam grinds into a steam engine.  This worked because of the original flat head design, meaning that the existing poppet valves were kept for intake and exhaust.  The engine was donated by Dick Moore who hauled it here from California.  There is no story of where it came from or who made it.  The design is well done and shows an understanding of steam mechanics.  It appears to need a lot of steam to run because of the large displacement of this engine.  It turns over easily and when the head is removed it is easy to see the valves work and to see how the steam passages are used.
