balanced so that there would be less wear on the valve faces. There were some inefficiencies in this design because the cool exhaust steam cooled down the metal where the hot intake steam came in. The patterns were sold to a steam fellow in British Columbia but at this time no castings are being made from them. | The engine was developed by Arnie Land and Ralph Day and castings were sold by Land’s son-in-law Bill Moore, brother of the late Dick Moore from La Verne, California. The specifications were 2 ½” Bore x 3 ½” Stroke, two cylinder double acting. It will develop 20 hp at 600 psi operating at 1000-1200 rpm. At the present time someone in Delaware and someone in the United Kingdom are developing patterns. |
