Tony Grzyb Bicycle

Early Version

These are early photos of Tony Grzyb’s bicycle.  He used a PM Research engine that he kept modifying as it bent connecting rods and all.  The boiler was his own rendition of the LaMont circulating boiler that, it appears, he invented himself.  The circulating pump is a positive displacement piston pump and much work went into the check valves to get them to work.  This design circulated the water at about a 2-1 ratio of circulating volume to make-up water volume whereas most LaMont designs aim for a 5-1 range.    Tony Gryzb Steam powered bicycle

The advantage of this design is that what looks like a mono-tube boiler, has a water level control and that is always an improvement.  This bike usually is the only thing running successfully at the steam meets and this makes Tony difficult to get along with.
